Why Spray Tan?
Everyone looks better with a Tan don’t they? With a tan, your eyes look brighter, your teeth look whiter, and your skin looks healthy. Unfortunately without a good SPF the sun can be bad for you, and UV Sun-Beds can be dangerous, as I know from personal experience. I had to have some skin removed from my face for BCC (Basal Cell Carcinoma) a form of skin cancer, which is why I am so passionate about Spray Tans.
Is Spray Tan it Safe?
Very. There is no harmful UV exposure, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have approved the use of DHA for over 30 years. With natural ingredients such as Organic Aloe Vera, Calendula, Gingko and Q10, Skin irritations or Allergies are extremely rare, however if you do have very sensitive skin, I would be happy to arrange a skin patch test first.
A Spray Tan will NOT make your skin safe in the sun, you will still need to use a good SPF before going out in the sun. Please visit www.saveourskin.org.uk for more details.
What happens with a Spray Tan?
For your first treatment, I will ask you some questions, and ask you to complete a consultation card.
This will give me as much information as possible about your skin, which will help me tailor your Spray Tan to you.
You then undress to your chosen underwear. I can supply disposable bra’s and pants.
I will then apply any necessary barrier cream to hands, feet, knees and elbows, and apply your hairnet if necessary.
I then apply your Spray Tan.
Once sprayed, a fan is applied to dry any tackiness on your skin, and being careful not to touch or rub anywhere, you then get dressed and can exit the van.
What do I need to do before my Spray Tan?
Call the Pink Pamper Mobile Spray Tan Van and book an appointment!
Once you’ve booked it, the day BEFORE your Spray Tan, you need to exfoliate and moisturise your skin (preferably with an oil free moisturiser). DO NOT apply any perfume or deodorant before your Spray Tan, as any mix of products with Spray Tan solution will go green, instead of brown, while it develops.
Ideally for a great, even Tan, you should be product and make-up free.
This ensures you have removed any dry, dead skin, and your Spray Tan application will go on better and last longer (approximately 5 to 7 days).
Do NOT shave right before a Spray Tan as the solution can sit in the holes shaving leaves, even after rinsing. It is better to do this either a couple of days beforehand, or a very LIGHT, GENTLE shave post tan.
Once you have had your Spray Tan do not wear anything tight. Dark loose clothing is advised, so your clothing does not rub off your tan and leave streaks, and developing tan can mark your clothing (although this usually washes off).
You then need to leave your tan to develop. Normally this is 8 hours, I do however do Rapid Tans, which develop in 1 to 4 hours.
Once developed rinse off any remaining solution, and you are tanned and good to go. Once again to prolong your new tan, an oil free moisturiser is recommended.
How Dark Will I Get?
I do a whole range of brands & solutions, ranging from Sienna X, Fake Bake and Crazy Angel (8hr development), to St Tropez, Cocoa Brown and Suntana (1-4hr development).
Your Spray Tan is specifically designed to you, following a complete and confidential consultation. If you are Strawberry Blonde with Fair Skin, you don’t want to be as brown as a body-builder do you?
If you have specific requirements, I will do my best to help.
How Long Will My Spray Tan Last?
Usually 5-7 days, depending on your lifestyle. If you attend the Gym or are going on Holiday, then roughly 3-5 days.
A Spray Tan will fade like a natural tan and shed with your skin, which is why a good Body Balm will prolong your tan, and a good Body Scrub will help you when removing it.
What do I need to tell you?
If you are in the first 3 months of pregnancy.
If you have very sensitive skin, allergies, or have had an allergic reaction to tanning or any other skin care product.
If you have any skin conditions such as Psoriasis or Eczema.
If you have asthma or any other breathing difficulties.
If you have any open wounds, cuts or rashes.
If you have had any other recent beauty procedures, such as Botox, or Fillers, as these need to be given the recommended healing time before applying a Spray Tan.
